UNION, is a point of sale system specializing in bars and restaurants seeking a contact-free solution for ordering via a mobile app. We are already disrupting the hospitality point of sale market with an innovative business model and modernized architecture that we would love to talk to you about.
We are looking for a Full Stack Engineer who has their head in the AWS Clouds all day, using AI every day in every aspect of their job. This person will work on our Backend applications and infrastructure, ranging from databases, APIs, ETL processes, Continuous Delivery pipelines, and other assorted applications in our software development life cycle. While some Developers work on the front end more than others, there is an expectation that you can jump into our React and our internal jQuery based applications.
Union is a rising start up and each gets asked to wear lots of hats. That’s the fun part after all.
What we are looking for:
- Coding within our SDLC from conception to deployment
- Rotate in on-call with the other Union internal team members
- Owning a feature all the way through post-deployment and maintenance
- Execute on the the analyzing, writing, building, and deployment of software
- Focus on testability of your code by implementing automated testing
- Be vocal to provide feedback to management during the development process
- Be an influencer and encourager, promoting a best in class application and team
- Bring up areas of of technical debt, code churn, and risk areas as our applications change over time
- When asked, take point in doing pull requests for the Cloud team members
- Make suggestions for opportunities to improve Union apps.
- Participate in spikes and hack-a-thons. Be creative and enthusiastic. Lead by example.
- Monitor errors and issues in production post deployment
- Have a positive attitude if and when we have to shift tech stacks
- Experienced in hospitality (especially as a bartender or waiter) as a plus
